If love were ink, I’d drain the seas,
To write the words you bring to me.
Yet every poem falls too small,
For love like ours—immeasurable.
If love were ink, I’d drain the seas,
To write the words you bring to me.
Yet every poem falls too small,
For love like ours—immeasurable.
A nursery rhyme says:
If all the world were apple-pie,
And all the seas were ink,
If all the trees were bread and cheese,
What should we do for drink? → ‘Ink!’
The answer is ‘ink’, but in Poetician’s case, the answer is ‘love’, which is immeasurable like the sea. Is this interpretation right?
