Why Is Moving On So Hard?
Letting go isn’t just about forgetting—it’s about accepting a world where someone you once held close no longer exists in the same way. We often delay moving forward, not because we don’t want to, but because doing so feels like leaving behind a part of ourselves.
This poem, Not Yet Ready, explores the delicate balance between holding on and stepping into an unknown future.
Not Yet Ready
I know I should close the door,
Let the echoes settle into silence.
But every time I reach for the handle,
I hear your voice whispering my name.Moving on means erasing you
From the future I once dreamed.
And maybe that’s why I linger—
Because without you, the future feels
Like a place I’m not yet ready to be.So I stay in yesterday,
Just a little longer,
Where you still exist
In the spaces between my thoughts.
The Pain of Letting Go
Moving on isn’t always about forgetting—it’s about making peace with absence. Not Yet Ready is a reminder that healing happens at its own pace. Sometimes, we must sit with our grief a little longer before we can truly step forward.

I think I can understand your feelings not completely but mostly. It is not necessary to close the door to the past completely but while you keep it open, you can proceed to your next door to the future. You don’t need to choose one out of the two doors. You can open any door to the past, in the present, and to the future freely. Relax yourself, take it easy. Any door in the universe is waiting for you to be opened.
