Poem: “Tidebound Memory”

by Soulxcape

I remember the sway of her silhouette—
bathed in the honeyed kiss of the late afternoon sun,
as if the sky painted her with longing.
Her bare feet danced where the ocean met the shore,
leaving soft impressions
that vanished too soon,
like promises whispered into wind.

Her body moved with the rhythm of the sea—
not to be tamed, only admired.
Curves that caught the golden light,
skin glazed with salt and warmth,
hair wild with breeze,
like seaweed tangled in the tides of thought.
I watched, spellbound,
as if the beach itself bowed
under the weight of her presence.

She laughed,
and the gulls scattered like secrets.
She ran,
and the waves chased her like a past that couldn’t let go.
She looked back once—just once—
and I swear the world paused,
as if eternity tucked itself into that glance.

Now, long after footprints have faded
and the shoreline has rewritten the scene,
I still return—
to that memory, to that ghost of a day.
The sea still smells like her skin.
The wind still carries her voice.
The sky still blushes the same shade
as when she turned to me and smiled.

She is gone.
But the beach remembers.
And so do I.
